Butterfly Feature Piece Necklace

Instructions

1.  Thread 1 x bead onto a head pin leaving approximately 1 cm, trim off excess head pin.  Step 1Using round nose pliers, form a loop at the top of the head pin.  Repeat to make 3 pieces.

2.  Thread 1 x bead onto an eye pin leaving approximately 1cm, trim off excess eye pin.  Using round nose pliers, form a loop at the top of the eye pin.  Repeat to make 3 pieces.

Step 23.  Cut off the top of the head pin leaving a straight piece of wire.  Using round nose pliers, form a loop at one end and thread 1 x square spacer, 1 x bead, 1 x square spacer, 1 x bead, 1 x square spacer.  Leaving approximately 1cm, trim excess wire and form a loop at the end of the pin.  Repeat to make 4 pieces.

4.  Using your round nose pliers, gently open the loop and link together through the next loop to form the pattern in the picture.  Connect the strands to the butterfly feature piece as per the main photo.Step 3

5.  Thread ribbon through centre hole at the top of the butterfly feature making sure the lengths are even.  Thread both ends of the ribbon through a square hole spacer.

6.  Thread 1 x bead, 1 x square spacer on each length of ribbon securing it by tying a knot at the top of the square spacer.

7.  Measure 10cm and tie a knot on each length of ribbon.  Thread 1 x square spacer, 1 x bead, 1 x square spacer, 1 x bead, 1 x square spacer on each length of ribbon securing it by tying a knot at the top of the square spacers.

8.  10cms from the end of each length of ribbon tie a knot and thread 1 x bead, 1 x square spacer, 1 x bead securing it by tying a knot at the top of the beads.

Instructions

1.  Follow steps 1-4 of the Butterfly Feature Piece Necklace and connect the strands to the 3-hole swirl necklace connector (instead of the butterfly feature piece) as per the photo.Step 1 

2.  Using your round nose pliers, gently open the loop at the top of the shepherd hook and link the loop at the top of the necklace connector.  Close loop securely.

3.  Repeat steps 1-2 to create the other earring.

Requirements

  • 2 pkt Ribtex Glass Cube Beads 4mm (CUB101)
  • 1 pkt Ribtex Jewellery Bitz Bohemian Gold 3-hole Rectangular Spacer (JF326)
  • 1 pkt Ribtex Jewellery Bitz Bohemian Gold Square Hole Spacer (JF323)
  • 1 pkt Ribtex Stretch Thread Black (ST05BK)
  • Access to a set of Round Nose Pliers (JF166)

InstructionsStep 1

1.  Cut stretch thread into 3 equal lengths approximately 30cm long.  Tie ends together on one end only.  With the wrong side of the 3-hole rectangular spacer facing up, thread each strand through the 3 holes on one side of the spacer.

2.  Turn over the spacer so the correct side is facing up and thread 3 x beads, 1 x square spacer, 1 x bead, 1 x square spacer and 3 x beads onto each strand.  Step 2Thread each of the 3 strands through a 3-hole rectangular spacer.  Repeat the pattern 4 times.

3.  With the wrong side of the spacers facing up, thread the 3 strands through the first spacer and tie strands together securing it with a double knot.  Trim excess thread.

  • 1 pkt Ribtex Jewellery Bitz Bohemian Gold Eye Pins (JF271)

Instructions

Step 11.  Cut 3 x 50cm lengths of tiger tail.  Thread 1 crimp bead onto each strand and then thread each strand through one of the loops in the 3-hole swirl necklace connector, and back through the crimp bead leaving 5cm of tiger tail on the short end to be threaded through beads.  Using flat nose pliers, crimp/flatten the crimp beads.

2.  Thread 1 x square spacer, 1 x bead, 1 x square spacer, 3 x beads, 1 x 3-hole rectangular spacer, 3 x beads.  Repeat pattern 5 more times.

3.  Thread 1 x square spacer, 1 x bead, 1 x square spacer, 1 x crimp bead.  Thread each strand of tiger tail through one of the loops in the 3-hole swirl necklace connector and back through the crimp bead.  Using flat nose pliers, crimp/flatten the bead.  Leaving a 5cm length, trim excess wire and thread the end through the beads to hide the strands.

4.  To make the bead chain, thread 1 x bead onto an eye pin leaving approximately 1cm, trim off excess eye pin.  Using round nose pliers, form a loop at the top of the eye pin to match the other end.  Repeat to make 6 pieces.Step 2

5.  Join 5 pieces by gently opening the loops, linking together and closing the loops with the pliers. Attach the chain by linking the end loop to the top hole on the 3-hole swirl necklace connector.

6.  At the remaining end of the necklace, use the remaining piece (cube bead on an eye pin) and attach by gently opening the end loop and attaching it to the top hole on the 3-hole swirl necklace connector.  Close loop.  Attach the hook by opening the other eye pin loop and threading on the hook and closing the loop.
