Knitted Bracelet

Requirements

  • 1 pkt Ribtex Jewellery Bitz Jump rings Small (JF114)
  • 1 pkt Ribtex Jewellery Bitz Eye Pin Small (JF184) 
  • 1 pkt Ribtex Jewellery Bitz Hook & Loop (JF188)
  • 1 pkt Ribtex Jewellery Bitz End Bar 5 Hole (JF226) 
  • 1 pkt Ribtex Designer Wire Silver 28 gauge (JF213)
  • Access to a set of Round Nose Pliers (JF166)
  • 1 pair 4mm Knitting Needles 

Instructions

1.  Unwind approximately 2m of knitting wire.Diagram A

2.  Mix 60 Precious Stones, 45 Freshwater Pearls, 45 Glass Beads and 40 Faceted Bi-cones together.  Thread onto Designer Wire in random order (do not repeat the beads in the same order, or a striped effect will emerge).  Refer diagram A.

3.  Slide beads down the wire to allow approximately 2m of exposed wire.

Diagram B4.  Leave 20cm of wire before casting on 5 stitches (refer to knitting instructions on PDF download for more detail).

5.  Begin to knit one row plain.  Insert needle into first stitch, slide bead up to the needle and knit into stitch.  Refer diagram B.

Diagram C6.  Knit 5 beads per row (bracelet is knitted in stocking stitch - one row of plain and one row of purl).  Refer diagram C.

7.  Measure bracelet around the wrist, leaving a 2.5cm gap.  Refer diagram D.

8.  When bracelet reaches the desired length, cast off leaving 20cm wire.Diagram D

9.  Connect end bars by weaving the 20cm wire tail through each loop and back into the last row of stitches.

10.  Trim excess wire.

11.  Using round nose pliers, open a jump ring and attach the hook to one end bar.  Refer diagram E.Diagram E

12.  Close jump ring with pliers.

13.  Open a jump ring and attach the chain (see instructions below) to the other end bar.

14.  Close jump ring with plier.

Chain

1.  Thread a bead onto an eye pin.

Diagram F2.  With round nose pliers, curl the straight end of the eye pin into the loop of your next eye pin.  Refer diagram F.

3.  Secure the loop tightly.

4.  Repeat steps 1-3 four times.
